illuminate : flourish

Four lights shine on flowers in a vase. I don’t change the water of the vase or fill it up with water. The lights fade out one by one, depending on the amount of the water of the vase, and eventually they are turned off.

As the end of the exhibition is coming, the flowers are wilting and all the lights are turned off.

The situation of this place is like the water of vase not changed. It is neither a pot with earth nor the ground to put down roots. This is a repetitive and obvious phenomenon.

the first hair

The maternal hairs that comes into contact with a newborn baby before the baby opens eyes becomes a toy of sense of smell and touch and gives emotional stability. This as a motif at a party of five senses with eyes closed, an installation shaping long curly hair plays a role for viewers with eyes closed to recognize that there is a pillar.

I want to show that a certain existence is artificially or naturally left or disappears in an area by recording that an image of ripped paper which is copied with prints, is stuck here and there of Seongsu-dong streets, damaged or missing.

It is an prints without an edition, not a white paint, to cover walls in this project. In the course of covering the walls, I intend to confuse the print function, artists’ action and the perception of viewers, on the board between art and non-art. Practically, prints only serves as a wallpaper and it is hard for its value to be judged as an artwork, and it is even hard to recognize.
